Just 30 units of the exclusive roadster will be built

Veritas has confirmed its exclusive and limited edition RS III Roadster will go into production in January next year.

The 1+1 RS III will cost from £245,000 and orders have already been received from eight customers, including one in the UK.

It was first seen as a concept back in 2001, and production will be limited to just 30 units.

It’s powered by the 434bhp 5.0-litre unit from the BMW M5, which also produces 406lb ft of torque. Weighing just 1050kg, it hits 0-62mph in 4.0sec and has a top speed of 186mph.

The German firm is also planning to offer 30 fixed-roof versions of the RS III in the near future.

Veritas’s Michael Trick previously told Autocar: “The coupe version will have a sloping rear that runs to the back of the car and it is designed for markets like the Middle East, where they need air conditioning.”
