New MPV will cost from £16,895; on sale January 2010

Peugeot has confirmed its new 5008 MPV will cost from £16,895 when it goes on sale in January.

Five engines will be offered in the range; two 1.6-litre petrols (a 120bhp with a five-speed gearbox and a 150bhp turbo with a six-speed) and three diesel units; a 1.6-litre, 110bhp HDi with either six-speed manual or six-speed clutchless semi-auto; and a 2.0-litre turbodiesel with either 150bhp or 163bhp, depending whether it drives through a six-speed manual or six-speed auto.

It has three trim levels (Active, Sport and Exclusive) and all models come with Peugeot's Multiflex interior, which has seven seats, the second row of which folds flat and the third row can be hidden below the floor.

Sport models get 17-inch alloys as standard, as well as an Aluminium Pack (which features new trim for the front grille, front fog lights and chrome detailing), cruise control and front fog lights.

Top-of-the-range Exclusive model feature a panoramic glass roof, 17-inch alloys, automatic headlamps and wipers, a head up display, rear parking aid, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and climate control air con.

Prices rise to £23,695 for the top-spec Exclusive model with the 163bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine.
