Full hi-res gallery celebrating 90 years of the French firm

Citroen has been celebrating its 90th anniversary throughout 2009 and to mark the occasion, Autocar has been through the archives to bring you pictures of some of its most memorable models.

The French firm has built some classic cars over the years, most notably the DS and 2CV, while it has also been responsible for some of the wackiest concepts seen at motor shows.

The firm also has a strong racing pedigree, most recently seen with Frenchman Sebastien Loeb’s domination of the World Rally Championship.

Pictures in the gallery include classic models and concepts, road and rally cars, and pictures from the firm’s own celebrations last weekend at the Ace Café in London.

Re: 90 years of Citroen in pics

Seemed like my mum kept Citroen going through the '70s a DS, a couple of GS and a CX, I thought other cars with self cancelling indicators and springs in the wheel arches were strange.

Re: 90 years of Citroen in pics

In 1975 when my dad was looking to replace his Maxi (!) I remember persuading him to look at the GS (I was 14 at the time...), and he liked it so much he bought one.

It was a lovely car, and an unusual choice at the time, people were always interested in what it was and what he thought of it.
