12 of 15 Reventon Roadsters already sold

Lamborghini's “most extreme” creation yet, the Reventon Roadster, has almost sold out. Just 15 are being built, but 12 have already found owners, including one in the UK.

The Reventon Roadster has made its debut at the Frankfurt motor show, where Lamborghini will be hoping to sell the remaining two.

Powering the Roadster is a 6.5-litre V12 with 661bhp, providing a 0-60mph time of 3.4sec and a top speed of 205mph.

“The Reventon is the most extreme car in the history of the brand,” said Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann. “The new Roadster adds an extra emotional component to our combined technological expertise; it unites superior performance with the sensual fascination of open-top driving."

The Roadster has the same footprint as the coupe but weighs just 25kg more, at 1690kg. Behind the two seats are two hidden pop-up bars that deploy in a few hundredths of a second if the car rolls.

Inside, the traditional dials are ditched in favour of hi-tech liquid crystal displays. The Roadster is painted a new shade of matt grey called Reventon Grey, which is a slightly different colour from that of the coupe.

The car will cost £970,000 when it goes on sale.

Re: Lamborghini Reventon Roadster

I just wondered how Lamborghini gets away with pedestrian impact regs. with that sharp nose and those projecting vent edges?

I suppose it is because of the low production numbers....
