Electric version could be on sale in Europe in 2011

This is the Renault Fluence - a new saloon that could be sold in Europe as an electric car.

The standard Renault Fluence is set to be built in Turkey, where the Megane saloon was previously made, and go on sale on Turkey, Russia and Romania only.

However, an electric version of the Fluence is being developed, and will be trialled in Israel as part of a tie-in with Project Better Place, which is developing electric car charging systems.

If the tests are successful, the Fluence electric car is expected to go on sale in Europe in 2011.

Renault’s three electric car charging charging systems will be display at next month's Frankfurt motor show.

These are it’s high-powered, quick-charge plug-in system, an overnight, home-based plug-in system and its automated ‘Quick Drop’ system, which can remove and replace a battery in three minutes.

Re: Renault Fluence launched

Those who live in such undeveloped countries should dump their valuable money onto such brands like VW, Vauxhaul (Opel), Ford, etc., which lack keyless entry and go, simple gps and navigation, which are smaller in size, which are not reputable for safety and reliability, which are not that durable either.

Reanult's have more equipment and space, are comfortable, safer, reliable (excluding old Laguna and Espace), durable and cheaper to run than their rivals. What else we need?

I think Fluence is the most ideal car in its class, especially with 1.5 dCi engine, unmatched by any rivals so far in terms of power and economy.

Re: Renault Fluence launched

The front is nice, even though not entirely original; they seem to have picked up what people at Fiat have just dropped from, or at least changed on, their most recent revision of Fiat Punto. Even then, with some similarities considered, the front is nice; body panels are smooth, without any fuss or exaggerated styling; have not really been able to see a lot of the tale, as is not entirely visible in any of the pictures provided, so judgment reserved. Having said all of that, I would also like to add that forming an opinion about anything pictured in black color most probably happens to be a rather difficult task; black color has a masking effect, neither allows a lot of defects to become visible nor most probably allows all of the refinements or finer details to shine through.
