Production version of the Dutch supercar hits the streets for the first time

The first production Spyker C8 Aileron has been spotted on European roads.

The C8 Aileron was first seen as a concept at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008 and as a production model at the same show this year. This is the first time we have seen the production model on European roads.

The Dutch supercar is powered by a 4.2-litre Audi V8 engine, which also appears in the Audi R8. It produces 400bhp and 354lb ft or torque, while 0-62secs takes 4.5secs and it can reach 187mph.

Its all-aluminium spaceframe helps keep weight down to 1425kg. It also has an aluminium rear diffuser. Spyker say its turbine air inlets are a nod to the jet-engined aviation era, while LEDs are used in the front and rear headlights.

Inside, there are Sparco sports seats, a full leather interior and brushed aluminium trim.

Prices start at around £160,000 and the Spyker C8 Aileron is expected to go on sale next year.
