Peugeot has announced pricing details and specifications of its new 508. Start-stop is now available

Peugeot's new 508 will be available to buy from £18,150.

The new line-up will be available with seven engines – two petrol and five diesels – and comes with five trim levels: Access, SR, Active, Allure and GT.

The entry-level 1.6-litre petrol Access version costs from £18,150 and produces 120bhp, achieving 45.6mpg. The more powerful 1.6-litre SR version develops 156bhp and 180lb ft of torque – 63lb ft more than the lower-powered petrol version. Prices for this start from £20,850.

For the entry-level diesel Access, prices start from £19,050. The 1.6 e-HDi engine produces 112bhp and 180lb ft of torque, with 60mpg achievable, according to the company.

At the top end of the scale, upwards of £28,750 will get you the GT HDi. This produces 204bhp and 338lb ft of torque with a fuel economy figure of just under 50mpg. The diesel line-up also features the company’s start-stop system on e-HDi versions.
