Styling changes and cleaner engines for facelifted Mondeo

The revised Ford Mondeo will be unveiled at the Paris motor show, and is expected to go on sale late this year.

These spy pictures show the car in more detail than ever before, and show the areas of the car where the styling upgrades are focused.

That means new front and rear bumpers, taking styling cues from the Ford Focus concept unveiled at the Detroit motor show later this year, a more boxy grille, and LED running lights on higher end models. The interior is also expected to be refreshed.

The revised Ford Mondeo will be available with Ecoboost engines when it goes on sale.

It will get the new 200bhp 2.0-litre turbo-charged direct injection Ecoboost with 211lb ft of torque, while a smaller 1.6-litre turbocharged Exoboost unit is also possible.

Other engines will include the best-selling 2.0-litre diesels, available with: 113bhp, 138bhp or 161bhp, and a 2.2-litre diesel, which is expected to be pushed from 173bhp to over 180bhp, but offer improved economy.

Ford’s double-clutch Powershift gearbox will also be available as an option.

The facelifted Mondeo, which is set to be unveiled at September's Paris motor show, is the third and final car sat on Ford's CD platform to get a mid-life facelift, the others being the S-Max and Galaxy.

The Ford Mondeo is a fine car in most areas. The family hatch is still a class leader even as its replacement nears

A friend of mie bought a brand new BMW 335, best part of £50k. Sold it a year later and got around £30k, £20K drop in a year.. OUCH

Actually that's not as bad as it sounds. The list price for a 335i is just over £35k so that's only a drop of £5k. The rest is options which I'm sure he knew he wouldn't get most of back.

I knew a guy one who spent over £30k on a Mini. He must have been off his head.

Re: Revised Ford Mondeo spied

When I first saw the new shape Mondeo when it first came out I did think it had a few Jaguar styling cues ! I did wonder if was meant to be the replacement for the X Type ! A few Jag badges and a grill change is all it would take !

If only people could see beyond that badge...

I know what you mean. I know may people who refused to be seen in a Ford, simply because it's a Ford, even though most of their products are excellent. I've driven a current Mondeo (2.5t) and found the car better overall than my 325i. The only thing i found better in my jam jar was the slighter sweeter handling, interior quality and the engine.
