Just 100 limited edition models will be built; Frankfurt launch next week

BMW will launch a limited edition M6 Competition at the Frankfurt motor show next week.

Just 100 units will be made of the BMW M6 Competition and its performance remains the same as the normal M6.

The special upgrades over the standard M6 include a special suspension set up with modified springs, dampers and stabilisers. Its ride height has been lowered by 10mm at the front and 12mm at the rear.

A new colour will be available exclusively to the car – frozen grey metallic – and a choice of two interiors will be offered - Merino full leather with either black or light grey two-tone contrast stitching.

Special floor mats with ‘M6 Competition’ embroided in will also be included, as will a special numbered commemorative plaque.

Full details, including pricing, will be announced at the show next week.

Yes!, strange as it may seem, i agree with you!!,and as somebody else suggested, a CSL version might have been a better direction, this as you've advocated before on other cars(the Panamera)would be the ideal vehicle to use,i wouldn't go as far as thinner window glass, but a carbon roof, lighter alloys maybe even a carbon fibre bonnet, a modest increase in power and torque like the M3 CSL, there, that shouldn't be to hard for BMW to grasp, should it?

BMW would be better spending their time on an M6 CSL than a half-hearted special edition like this.

Unfortunately it looks like BMW are now happy to plow down the half heated special edition route - following the recent M3 special edition that only got lowered suspension and a different colour too - I don't even think the M3 got the special edition floor mats.
