Hot AMG S-class revealed ahead of Shanghai show

Images of the new Mercedes-Benz S63 and S65 AMGs have been leaked prior to their planned unveiling at the Shanghai motor show next week.

AMG has been accused of making the hot S-classes too discreet in the past, but that's unlikely to be the case this time.

The pictures, which were revealed accidently via the company’s online car configurator, show an deep front spoiler with a central air intake and LED strips.

At the back there are trademark quad exhaust pipes, a chunky bumper and LED elements in the tail lights.

The S65 has three double strips in its front grille, while the S63 is differentiated with four thins bars.

Power is expected to come from a 596bhp 6.0-litre V12 with 738lb ft of torque in the S65, and a 511bhp 6.2-litre V8 producing 465lb ft of torque for the S63.

The S65 is likely to have a five-speed auto, and the S63 a seven-speed auto.

Both models will be limited to 155mph, although this can reportedly be raised to 186mph as a cost option.
