The new Santa Fe will follow, although it is likely to take a new name with an ix prefix. A face-lifted i20 comes shortly after.Tony Whitehorn, managing director of Hyundai UK, said: “We’ve already shown with our other recent models that each car that comes out of this company is quite improved, both technically and in terms of emotional appeal.”Hyundai will also launch its new i40 estate next month, and the Veloster coupe in November.“The Veloster takes us into a new area – it’s absolutely not a sports car, and it’s not about niche appeal. We hope to attract buyers form all segments,” said Whitehorn. “It’s a new type of car, and we’ve seen from the Mini, Citroen’s DS range and the Nissan Juke that the UK car market likes innovation.”However, Whitehorn ruled out Hyundai extending its style-led model range beyond the upcoming Veloster coupe at present. “If the market shows there’s an opportunity then we can consider it, but at the moment there are no other plans,” he said.
