BMW's 3-series cabrio caught

This is BMW's next 3-series convertible, caught undergoing final testing in Munich. The German manufacturer is putting the finishing touches to the model, an important notch in the range in terms of sales, particularly in the United States.

The model spied by our photographers is in turbocharged 335i guise, with twin rear exhausts. The first car from Munich to have a folding hardtop, the new model reflects the 3-series coupé's switch to more conservative, less 'flame-surfaced' styling.

Expect an official launch before the end of this year, with sales due to start in the spring of 2007.
