  • New 1100bhp Danish supercar

    Nov 11, 2009 1:23 PM

This is the Zenvo ST1, a Danish supercar whose V8 engine produces more than 1100bhp.

Zenvo Automotive started development of the prototype version in 2004, with the brief of producing a “trackworthy supercar that would be also suitable for everyday use”.

See the pics of the Zenvo ST1

The firm is keen to make the car as Danish as possible, with many components coming from local ...Read the full article

Can I lower the tone immediately by asking if any element of the car is made from Lego?

It's pretty impressive that they made it so light, but not sure about the styling. The guages in the binnacle look straight out of a Porsche

Yawn. Yet another absurd, irrelevant and comical penis extension for those with more money than sense.

A bit harsh to say the least, and physical attributes have nothing to do with it!, you could argue that its the only supercar tht looks like other cars put together(a touch Aston Martin at the front, a little Audi R8/10 at the rear),  i agree the interior looks like a mish mash of a parts bin raid, but hey in these so called hard times it cuts costs, but the one thing we don't need is another supercar,it would have been more relavent if it had been Hydrogen powered!

But 1100 BHP? and from an unkonwn company with no track record in engineering competence - that is absurd. Sooner or later some idiot is going to  kill  a lot of people  whilst trying to demonstrate that they have the skill to control this much power. The backlash could be considerable and will affect us all. It is time that  cars such as this were banned and that  in the future , as you suggest ,  cars that have alternative power sources and that are still fun are developed

Teenage boyracers  have been doing that for years.

You don't need 1100BHP to kill an innocent passer by. Unfortunately, rusty old Saxo VTRs will do the job very nicely.

Just a hairy man in a waxed world.

    Yeah, knee-jerk cobblers.

I'd like to see the KSI stats for really high performance cars like this; I bet they are if anything lower than for cooking hatches in proportion to the number on the road.

ST1 is the name of a classy gentleman's establishment in Stoke-on-Trent.

Well I personally think that- from the outside at least- it looks the nuts. Like most of you I'm unsure about the interior, but at the same time it hardly looks like a bad place to be! What bothers me is the power to weight ratio. Impressive though the numbers are, they will be utterly irrelevant if the thing can't put them onto the tarmac! I can see how the Veyron for example manages it as it has 4WD and has enough weight to drive the tyres into the tarmac, but 1376kg and -I presume- 2WD? Good luck with that one... I'd rather they forgot about big horsepower (not just this company, but others too) and set about grabbing headlines with innovative weight saving measures.
