  • Renault confirms Twizy production

    Renault has confirmed it will be putting its all-electric Twizy ZE city car into production in 2011.

    The production version is likely to remain relatively unchanged from the concept unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September and it will be built at the firm’s Valladolid plant in Spain.

    fantastic!!!! i am going to get one! the future of the car is superb with this and all the other electric vehicles coming out! brilliant! (cannot wait)

    -this car will be a sure fire sales hit!

    I agree with CapsLock. I hope Toyota brings out its Glider too.

    Are you really going to go down the road in one of them? A one person electric car? We have something even better than that for inner city - its called walking. Sorry don't see the point - plus imagine a million of these in london - you'll get squashed by a bus!

    Great news. Hope the overall shape of the Zoe will stay - it's the most adventurous Renault we've seen for a while. But the Twizy, wow. Now that IS going to be good. I hope at least some of the super cool interior makes it, too, and that Renault will price it right. Looking forward to this.
    I've got an Aygo and a Meerkovonian meerkat :)

    Not sure I'd fancy being in a prang in one of those - it looks like your feet would be the crumple zone.

     I'm sure I've seen this design somewhere before but in a more enviromentally friendly form.

    There probably is no crumple zone as it would be more dangerous, it would be safer to make it as hard as possible. remember it offers a lot more protection than a push bike or scooter and that is what its competing against really and as about as fast.
