Mitsubishi’s Colt has been around since 1962, and started life as a larger family car than the current incarnation. It went on sale in the UK in 1974, and the first of the Colt hatchbacks arrived four years later.

Four generations of Colt have followed, and the current car is a joint project with Smart and shares a floorpan with the Forfour. There have been several performance versions, including the 1.8 16-valve GTi, but it’s the 1992 Colt Cyborg that’s most memorable, which offered 17...Read the full article

Having just bought one of these, I'm amazed. I was expecting a moderately warm supermini and it turns out I've got a baby muscle car that shames the 189bhp Corolla 1.8 T Sport & 150bhp 1.8T Golf Gti, both of which I've owned recently.

The major disappointment, and I reckon its a serious one that is putting buyers off, is the truely awful quality of the interior, particularly the plastics. Only time will tell if they take the miles - they look low rent but admittedly don't give the impression that bits are about to start falling off.

Thing is, as I'm darting about beating £30k sports saloons away from the traffic lights, and as my CZT appears in peoples rear-view mirrors, looking like a slightly menacing intergalactic MPV from the year 3000, few will be aware of that interior - its only achilles heel.

Hopefully, some of those saloon owners and rear-view mirror gazers might just take note of that obscure three diamond badge and appreciate that Mitsubishi doesn't just make the EVO and Shogun.

the interior of a car is hugely important, since it is the thing that you will be looking at all the time no matter how you are driving.

personally that was one reason i changed my old car, because the interior was starting to feel old.

for this reason also i won't be driving cars like the impreza with low-rent interiors, no matter how awesome they are to drive.

    Bring it!!
