With twelve days to go till my Focus shows up, you had me worried for a minute I'd ordered the wrong thing... but I'm still happy.

 So it seems the renault is better in every way apart form the fact it doesnt have 300bhp?

Using the £5k you have saved from buying the renault would get you a lot more than 300bhp.

Even if the words are "better car" for the Ford I think I'd go for the all rounder Renault for an everyday proposition. Plus it's not great looker but a bit more effort has been made than the Ford, it's cheaper to run and an interior and driving position are better. There again 50 extra horses...

 looking at the video of them sweeping along those winding roads, it really stands out how sleek the megane is and how bland the focus shape is.

 Can anyone explain to me how the road at the last part changes from the rest of the road we were seeing for the fist minutes? Is it just that the road opens up more, so that the Faster, more powerful car can pull away? Is that what happens here? Please help me understand? thank you, JL

I hope there is an intention to do the same test, instead this time over the Millbrook circuit in, similar to the Focus vs Clio film that was done?

Also, was the Megane on the cup chassis?  If it was and smoothed the bumps that were shown in parts of that film it is quite an impressive set up and indicates there will be more to come from the French car in the future.

 BAsed on Steves assessment and just watching the cars- in the corners the Renault is the better handling car ALREADY. Just listen to his commentary. That end stuff is just Autocar theater. jl
