    Dec 12, 2007 11:43 PM

In the build up to the new year, it’s only right to take stock. For Autocar, that means looking back over the twelve months that are currently drawing to a close, and giving thanks for the great new cars they have brought us. And this year in particular, it meant choosing five of the best cars of 2007, driving them to a foggy Welsh hillside and having a blazing row.
As part of our Class of ’07 feature, Autocar writers Chris Harris, Steve Sutcliffe, Jamie Corstorphine, Andrew Frankel, Matt Pri...Read the full article

What no BMW?  Autocar, what are you playing at?  Surely somehow you would have got a BMW onto the list and let it win?

Or maybe Autocar aren't quite so BMW-biased after all...

What about the Ferrari F430 Scuderia?

    The third generation Honda FCX.

Hydrogen fuel cell technology goes into production next year - this is the future of the car and is something truely innovative.

It might not handle or go like a Ferrari but it will spawn a generation of cars that do.

Or maybe they are taking the hint!

For me the Audi R8 is a land mark car, if only for Audi to show they do have the ability to make a great handling performance car. But all the cars in your final few are performance oriented, why?

Does a car have to be fast to be the greatest car of 2007?

What about the other cars Autocar raved about this year? New Mondeo, i30, get my drift.

I dont think 2007 was really much of a memorable year for cars.  Nothing springs to mind really.  I guess id probably say something like the Cee'd, simply because its proved that that part of the world can bang together a decent motor.  It may not be glamerous, but im not going to say something like a reventon when only 100 rich bastards are ever going to drive them.

A little surprised at Monkey's choice of tart-Merc. I always thought he was a man of impeccable taste. Tends to reinforce the idea that 2007 was not a legendary year.

Before anyone else points it out to me, I see the Mondeo is included. Doh.

bit shocked about the porsche though in the wet, pretty unforgivable i think.  i think i'd have to go with Andrew on this one.
