  • Kia Sorento 2.2D 4WD

    What is it?

This is the all-new Kia Sorento. Under the direction of its design guru Peter Schreyer, Kia has completely transformed the four-wheel-drive figurehead of its range, broadening its appeal.

The Kia Sorento’s body-on-frame construction, low-range transfer box and live rear axle have all disappeared, replaced by a modern, monocoque design, with all the usual benefits of weight saving and crash safety.

    What’s it like?

The Kia Sorento looks great. The...Read the full article

Better looking than the Lexus RX 450h, but still rubbish ;-)

If Kias are so 'rubbish' why do you never cease to comment on every article posted about one of their cars.

Did you not read the part where the writer clearly stated that the Sorento had a CLASS-LEADING ENGINE. In fact, this is exactly what he wrote about the 2.2 Diesel engine available in the new Sorento, 'undoubtedly the best in the class at the moment'. Hardly rubbish is it T o p p r a t, oh excuse me *cough cough*, Topkat. =)

Relax Mr Kia fanboy, I was talking about it being an SUV. I don't like ANY SUV's as they are totally pointless unless you live on a farm... I'm sure this car is waaay more reliable than some crappy over priced Maserati or Alfa... which isn't saying much... ;-)

Oh and writers get paid to promote products... don't believe everything you read! ;-)

I still dont yet think Kia has a family look, each car doesnt relate to the rest, but styling is definitley improving. I have no idea about build quality, but I'd get the feeling many would rank it above some of the French marques already.

What a pointless comment. Is it still rubbish if you have a use for such a vehicle?

Do you even have a clue? Alfa at least are making some pretty reliable cars these days.

    Proof?

On topic anyway, It looks like a decent effort. Engine sounds promising too. Have had a few C'eeds recently as courtesy cars and have been impressed by the diesel engines especially. It's not a bad car overall either if the steering and gearchange were a little better sorted.

Topkat - you really need to start learning to think before you write and post comments; maybe even before you talk but it would mean I'm prejudicing you on that one.

what you really need to learn is that the only way to deal with imbeciles on anonym public forums is to ignore them.

The syling has yet to grow on me but therest of the package seems very well thought out. I think I'm right in saying the engine and gearbox are shared with the latest Hyundai Santa Fe which looks better in the flesh to my eyes and having sat in one today certainly feels well put together.

Owning an Alfa I can vouch for their imporvement in reliability. Never put a foot wrong in three years.

Caeser ruled with an iron hand, then with a wooden foot and finally with a piece of string.
