Honda has launched its new Accord Crosstour for the North American market.

According to Honda, the saloon/SUV crossover mixes car-like ride quality and refinement, with a SUV-style raised ride height and driving position.

As a fan, rather a childhood fan, of the automotive industry, I can say with some level of confidence that almost every vehicle evokes a feeling, a comment, or a thought, no matter how short that maybe. I have looked at the pictures of this vehicle more than once and the only thought which has crossed my mind every time is, “whether they should have made it to begin with?”

Have Honda taken on some of GM's redundant designers in the states?.  Seriously though, they need to be careful in the past couple of years their designs have gone from elegant (if sometimes uninspiring) to chunky and ugly.

    It's all about the twisties....

I agree, In Europe too me the previous Accord and Civic where more elegant than the latest generation models. But this Honda Accord Crosstoad sorry Crosstour is far from elegant.

It does look very 'American' but i have tried to picture it with a Euro Accord nose, and dropped back down to a sensible hight and normal wheels. It would then make a decent Accord Hatch to add to our range. But i doubt they will bother. They think Hatches are down market, hence the saloon and Estate only range now.

If Honda brought us anything from their American range, how about the Civic coupe? Accord coupe? The latter ideally with the V6 and the manual box. Oh, and please can we have them at American prices instead of the silly inflated European ones please!

I don't know what all the fuss is about, this is so ugly it would fit in just nicely with the rest of the European Honda range. Hondas used to be reasonable looking cars (probably ten years ago at least) but the latest lot are dreadful.

How can you say hondas are ugly? the new accord euro is all class! and the civic is a good looker too!

You can judge a car soley on looks because that is completely subjective. And if people did then BMW would have died years ago.

The Accords used to be well priced, well engineered cars with looks that does not offend anyone. The latest generation looks ugly and overpriced. Both the Mondeo and the Insignia are better looking cars and are better VFM as well.

Honda's are good reliable cars, but they are too ugly and tinny... you close the door and the whole car shakes from side to side, looool
