An official picture of the Mini Roadster concept has been spied ahead of its official unveiling at the Frankfurt motor show next month.

The photo was taken from an official BMW poster used to promote the Mini brand as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations. The Roadster is an open-top version of the Mini Coupe concept unveiled earlier this week.

As with the Coupe, this is certainly more the direction BMW should be taking with development of Mini products, although BMW do seem to be good at uglyfying everything they touch at the moment... 

Interesting (from Motoringfile) that the abomination that is the R60 'Mini' SUV launch is delayed. Maybe they've realised a not at all mini, made in Austrian SUV isn't such a good idea?

All the arty farty fashion victims are gonna love this! It'll go nice with their iPhone...
