Tuning specialist Graham Goode Racing has launched a 340bhp and 397lb ft Focus RS performance upgrade package.

The ‘RS 340’ engine tuning package for the latest generation Ford Focus RS works using an ECU conversion developed by Superchips, and requires no mechanical modifications.

Impressive yes but the standard RS (assuming, ofcourse, it is lime green) will prove quicker on British B roads (assuming upgraded car is blue, as illustrated).

Maybe Mr. Goode will do something sensible and offer a 4wd option to cope with the power. J

I can't really see the point in 340BHP through the front wheels - crazy! Surely all that power can't be used, especially here in Blighty, unless there is another diff/prop shaft for 4WD....not going to happen.

Much better off in a Range Rover Sport Supercharged, I would have though. Far nicer and just as quick.

    Peace in our forum!

And you can have the fun off pulling stranded X5 and 6s out off boggy fields all day.

Although RR will not be "just as quick" if RS is lime green.

But what if decide to have your Range Rover Sport painted in Focus RS lime green?

Can't wait to drive this in Forza3 and the imminent arrival of Gran turismo 5. Will the Autocar staff hold race meeting within these games against your loyal readers?

I must be missing something here. The GGR package consists of fitting a Superchips chip? Which, to be honest, I wouldn't touch with a bargepole on a car of this spec. That's just my preference though. After spending this amount of money on a car, a proper remap would be needed to do it justice.

Such huge wheel arches for such a small car. Even if the car is meant to be a sports coupe or something like that, still, it's a small hatch and the size of the wheel arches completely ruins the whole feel. If one were to just look around and take a look at cars like Bentley, Aston Matins, or for that matter BMW M series vehicles which have not been to the tuners yet, these vehicles boast in access of 500 Hps and yet the wheel arches in most of the cases happen to be either far less conspicuous or yet on an even better note completely blended into the rest of the body. Now here we have a small hatch with sporting credentials which seems to have been designed around these wheel arches rather than having wheel arches designed for it; completely mind boggling.

On another note, why do cars have tail lights pointing upwards? Why would one want the God to know whether one is braking or about to turn left or right? No matter how high the vehicle behind one happens to be, the drivers usually keep an eye on the vehicle right in front of them in order to decide their next move. Just because we now a days have more SUVs on the roads doesn't mean that this particular driving logic should be ignored; another extremely interesting design decision.
