The Gemballa Panamera is understood to be riding on 22in alloys and has a Carrera 4S-style reflector str...Read the full article

If I am not much mistaken, the author of this article rather likes what they have done to this already frightening car!

In all seriousness, I would really like to know who it is at Autocar who writes these adulatory articles about modified German cars they have never driven, nor are likely to drive.

The style is so far from everything Autocar usually stands for ("understood to be riding on 22in alloys" - wow - cool!).  Is it some sort of in joke? Or the result of a hatchet job by a rival who has hacked in to their site?

It would be no less consistent if Max Power ran a group test of standard hybrids...

22 inch alloys...wow.  The Hip hop community and a few half wit football players must be drooling onto their chains

Is there anyone out there who still actually believes that photos accidentally or suspiciously "leak out" anymore, and they are not e-mailed either directly from the manufacturer (or in this case, modifier) to Autocar's inbox???  Or maybe via an 'unofficial' third party who happened to mysteriously come across them?

Seriously, all manufacturers seem to be taking one of three tacks to publicise upcoming models:  1. Spy photos (whoops, they caught us secretly testing the new Mercedes SLS again!);  2. Teaser photos (Here is a photo of half a headlight or a basic silhouette which reveals nothing but generates lot of blogging); and 3. Leaked photos or 'internal documents' (here is our top secret new car photographed in our own design studio.  Feigned outrage as to how it could possibly happen, etc.).

The manufacturers have the media by the short and curlies on this one, and the websites lap it up, regurgitating press releases or 'off the record' comments.  Whatever happened to the good old surprise reveal of a brand new car with no leaks or teasers prior to release?

    Nurse! The Screens!

And while the beer-fuelled pedantry is to the fore:

"Expect power upgrades to well in excess of 600bhp when Gemballa’s engineers have finished with the saloon, therefore"

Please do not end sentences with adverbs.

    Hold on...
