The VW Golf Plus BlueMotion uses the same 104bhp 1.6-litre common-rail TDI engine as the regular Golf BlueMotion.

The Golf Plus is simply a bigger golf. But when it was Golf Plus BlueMotion is here there is even less reasons not to buy it. Okay maybe the price is to be more expensive. But the Golf Plus was more expensive than the normal Golf because it was more spacious. The Golf Plus BlueMotion is more expensive than the regular Golf Plus because it has better fuel economy. All VW have to do now is meet the 65mpg they have claimed.//

I have no doubr that the new golf Plus Blue Motion will do what VW claim of it.  The great pity is that most drivers dont have the will power to try to make the high MPG figures.   I have been from Newbury to B'ham and back and averaged 68 mpg on a standard Golf Plus.   How  by not charging around like an idiot and thinking about what is going on in front of me....simple

Entirely believable.  With the VW 1.9 TDI engine in a Golf, I can achieve well into the 60's out of town with ease and have seen similar genuine mpg to your own on trips from Kent to Yorkshire & back, including M25 traffic.  With 57mpg over last 8000 mixed miles, no trickery, just careful considerate driving techniques, it is quite satisfying.
