Its not as fast or as good looking as the Cayman S or as powerful, its also dearer too.  The Porsche has a pedigree which the Lotus sadly lacks and I dont like the interior of the Evora.

having driven both i'd say they are very different cars

the evora feels like a baby esprit .. its a more grown up and bigger car

it rides better than the cayman and is more fluid and of course, isn't so generic looking inside and out

    horses for courses

one thing's for sure though... Lotus do not lack pedigree. Take  a look through the histroy books or drive more of their cars. They have a philosphy and cohesive feel or dna that runs though nearly all of their models. The evora feels like a true lotus and the moment you drive away in it you can feel how it relates to the elise, esprit, 340r etc.. Porsche on the other hand, in the struggle for profit, have lost their origins a little bit. For example, a 997 today sadly feels nothing like a 911 of yesteryear. A cayman, nothing like a 968.

Lotus lacks pedigree? Ha, Ha. Nice one.

If you haven't driven a particular car don't say you have just to prove a point. It doesn't fool anybody and is bloody annoying.

erm, the F1 Championships? Senna driving for them? The GT racing? The legend that is Colin Chapman? The fact that world plus dog calls on them to tune thier chassis'? need I go on?

...is taking Eau Rouge flat this weekeend...

Do you want to sit back, give some thought to the Lotus contribution to motorsport and road-going cars and reconsider that statement?

sorry to disagree but the best handling cars sold in Britain have to be in no particular order, 1. Nissan gt-r   2. Bugatti veyron  3. Zonda r and f   4. Porsche 911  5. corvette Zr-1 6. Mitsubishi evo  6. Elise

i dont see how the evora comes in

In order to make such a statement I presume that you have driven all of the cars listed? For instance why is the Veyron better than a 911?

Get your eyes tested,  The cayman is better looking than any Lotus,  It also has a longer and better pedigree.  It you turn the lotus upside down, look for the Dinky stamp  lol.  The last decent Lotus died when Colin Chapman did

No, get your eyes tested. What? You already have? Ah, that'll explain why you need to type in bold. Or maybe it's because you've got a Lotus keyboard.
