Production of the new Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4 will be running for five days a week from the beginning of September, according to newspaper reports.

For the last 12 months Land Rover has cut production of its three biggest models.

    Your

    LandRoverHell.com:
If Land Rover improved their customer service and reliability, maybe they would sell more cars, with the current poor quality and gross unreliability, combined with no requirement to offer fair customer service, sales will always be declining, its a shame but the concepts are good, for details about this and more please go to www.landroverhell.com

You're sad and pathetic existence is defined by your pointless website. I pity you.

I'm not really surprised to hear that Freelander volumes are lower than expected. I considered buying one when it was launched, but it seemed to offer very poor value for money. I drove one too, and it felt like a jacked up Mondeo (for good reason...), with no real character. The company made the rather predictable decision to 'move the new model upmarket', whilst it's competitors and several new entrants to the sector, mopped up sales that the previous model would once have enjoyed. I thought I'd visit the Landrover website to check the latest prices, and was amazed to find some fancy new webstyle brochure, with simulated page turns, clicks etc. Unfortunately, the contents were totally unreadable. Nice one LR. Click on 'pricelists' here to see what I mean:

It's a fairly standard e-brochire type thing, just click on the page and it'll zoom in to it so you can read it.

As far as landroverhell is concerned;  Autocar, can you please block this morons account?  You only need to look at the amount of (justified) abuse this guy gets with each grammatically awful, biased, non-factual bile that he throws up on each and every report on Land Rover to see how much he irritates people on this website.

I just tried your link and if you maximise the page you can read the prices.   Also you can zoom on any area using the controls on the top right.   Therefore, I'm glad to say you can actually use the on-line brochure.

Good news that Land Rover are increasing their productions.

Sorry to hear about L'R'Hell's problems, you always hear stories from this or that.   All I can say is that the dealer does make a difference.   My brother had a hell of a time when a factory fit option (Bluetooth mobile phone interface) wasn't fitted to his Focus.   One of the biggest dealers in Scotland who "promises to deliver" wasn't interested and tried to fob him off with a cheap third party offering!

As for LDR, I was very surprised at the price increases for the Freelander.   Generally speaking all the LDR / Jaguar products seem to have increased.

X-Type - I'm sorry to see this go, it never really fulfilled the slot correctly through.   What was supposed to be a 3-series rival really only appealed to the fuddy-duddies who couldn't afford an XJ.   It should have had a youthful design (youthful being anybody under retirement age).   Opportunity missed.   Worse whas the previous XJ looking like every other previous XJ but with the most modern of modern technology underneath.   Shocking.

I'd have to say that the XKR 4.2l that I drove was utterly superb.   Not tried the 5l which by every account I've read is even better still.

noluddite, I agree with you in some ways. The interface is just to fussy and requires a lot of zooming in and out, kind of annoying after a while.

It looks great with its flash, and interactive interface but plain HTML would have suited it better for most people. LR do not need to be wasting money on fancy flash websites at the moment, they make decent cars and they should focus on investing money on the cars and sales etc.

The best car websites at moment are VW, Merc and Volvo.....
