Because they didnt! Same system is already on sale on the 10MY Range Rover vs the S-Class and XJ

Its semantics as to who launched first, depends on the markets, RR is on sale in the UK now, S-Class isnt, so JLR are first in the UK, but think its the other way round in Germany, and dont know if either have launched in the US yet, think both are this month.

Who developed it is another matter, but both are very similar units

Its a Joke though, you cant watch TV, but its totally legal to use a laptop, even bolted to the wheel !!!!

. Isn’t it illegal to use your laptop while driving?

    A. No, it is not illegal, however, using a computer while driving is not a good idea. Many people utilize common GPS/mapping software programs for their travels which will require almost no input from the computer user. We recommend setting up and getting your GPS program running prior to getting on the road. Do not attempt to use your computer in any way that will interfere with your ability to concentrate on the task of driving safely
