American-based tuner Tym Switzer has launched its 789bhp version of the Porsche 911 Turbo.

Tym has boosted the power output of the 911 Turbo by fitting new intercoolers, remapping the ECU and adding a competition-style exhaust. Before Tym’s upgrades, the 911 Turbo produced 473bhp.

    Autocar:
Before Tym’s upgrades, the 911 Turbo produced 473bhp.

Like that wasn't enough? Idiotic and irrelevant.

Autocar starting to make 'breaking news' stories out of tuners.

Media sensationalism. Just admit at this time of the eyar there aren't many real news.

And like every other over boosted Porsche its crap over the first 1/2 mile(anyone watch topgear a year ago, Areil Atom destroyed it!),there is nowhere its power on British soil anyway where its power will be usable except on race tracks and drag strips!

Total total nonsense.  This is not a Porsche model.  The claims are wholly unvarified.  The price is unknown.  Who is Tym Switzer?

Really, I am beginning to think if I sent Autocar a made up brief that I had started a tuning company specialising in, say, the Mercedes Benz E200CDi, and that I had stuck on some new wheels and "upgraded" the ECU and that it was now producing 800bhp, they would shortly be "Latest New - Mega Merc Diesel!" on the web site.
