Ford has won the X Games Rally at its first attempt with its 780bhp Fiesta.

Former Indianapolis 500 winner Kenny Brack caused a huge upset with his victory, his first ever appearance at the X Games, which ended the domination of the Subaru Imprezas at the event in California.

I'm sure Ford's PR machine will put this to good use promoting the Fiesta in the states.

However......  is that the old shape Fiesta I see?  The shape cars (which the US will be getting) were obviously there from the photo's, but for the older car to win.  Oops!

Teg, not unless there were unofficial cars that won. All the Fiestas I am aware of were new ones. I'll to come down to yours this week and make sure you've been wearing you safety glasses, you clearly have swarf in your eye ;O)

This is just the sort of irrelevant drivel we wold expect from Top Gear and the magazines which follow its lead.

I did make a sweeping assumption that the picture shown on the artical was the car he won in, which is an old shape car.  Clearly not.

However, if you look at the other pictures in the "More Pics" section, there is definitely an old shape car shown.

780bhp in a Fiesta? Must go like a rocket! :D
