Haha, these 'Guess' games are funny when you read the original posts. Rostopher was at pains to tell every1 that he actually saw these very 2 cars following each other and people just kept on guessing silly cars such as Lotus Exige and Nissan GTR.

What was even funnier was when people start their guess with "I am certain..." and "It is 100%....", "It is definately...." and they were all wrong! Hilarious.

Autocar, please let's have more of these.

Seems Haymarket have their new mini-super video test honed:

    1. Road like-ish track

    2. Recipe for a short fairly cheap to produce exciting suuspenful on going competition

    3. And the underdog personality Sutters getting better and allowing his driving to show through

Its worth noting that sutters still needs to get better at explaining the difference in the handling of the cars involved- like asking the other guy or using a non lambo driver who will talk.

Last it still seems that places like isle of m and wales and yorkshire offer a better test of handling than this. So we don't get the full view of what these cars really can and can't do- feel a bit of baited and switched here- as this is becoming their defacto testing facility. jl

There must have been 2 external cameras on the Lambo , one on the roof and one on the tail , but I couldn't see any sign of them on the video.

I just knew it had to be a  Lambo if it wasnt a Ferrari.  There was no way it could be another american car and the Nissans are good enough yet.

Like usual these sorts of tests really show what people think is most important. And autocar have tapped into quite well better than any other auto whatever in the world. And always as in most fields and cultures in this life here on earth...

    its:

     "I said X and see it was X I'm right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm the winnnnnnerr"

Rather than any meaningful discussion about what they saw/read. The knowledge base gets shallower every day just as the water gets higher.  jl

Well, thank you. I believe I was the only person to say that - not that I'm claiming that I'm better than everyone. But I believe it was I who said that, okay?

This video is brilliant, not just because the cars are brilliant, but because it's perfectly judged, and rather than any cod attempts at comedy drawing the attention away from the material (as often seems the case on Top Gear when Clarkson isn't saying something genuinely funny), there's just unpretentious commentary from Sutcliffe.

I think the bloke looks good by comparison; when he's keeping the verbals relevant while demonstrating what a car can do when in the hands of an experienced, skilful driver. That shows there's an understanding of the real audience for this sort of thing: the bunch of knobs we all are.

Top Gear in particular seems terrified to ever make a film again that caters to the car enthusiast in the way these simple, effective videos do.

Max Venturi, by the way… surely this bloke got his name changed by deed poll.

Bet good old "Max" wasn't too happy about the results of that and scuttled off the Lamborghini HQ with a head full of modifications.

Anyone that says the Corvette isn't a genuine supercar has got to re-appraise their view after that video, even if Steve's pants were filled a couple of times!!!

    It's all about the twisties....
