Hmmm. I'm not keen on this front end facelift on first impressions. Perhaps it will give the car a more unique DRG. But... it strikes me as another Seat Bocanegra rehash. It reminds me of what Renault have done with the restyle of their Clio, which also imitates the Seat. So far only the Bocanegra has managed to pull it off properly. Come to think of it, it also reminds me somewhat of those small Fiat commercials... The indicators in the bumper is a touch dated for my liking.
I think the interior is also a nod to Renault design... which is something the Milano interior also appears to be moving toward. Although the Milano also has a smidge of BMW about its interior layout.
In my opinion the weakest part of the Grande Punto's styling was always the rather featureless taillights. They seem to have addressed those here with these glassier, classier C3 Picasso inspired units. The rear end of the car should now look a little more expensive and interesting.
I always thought FIAT would merge the grilles above and below the number plate in an Audi style front end... as both the Grande Punto and Bravo seem designed with this in mind, but perhaps its best that they haven't done so. I do hope I like the front end when this is officially unveiled as the current Grande Punto (especially the top of the range standard G.P. and of course the Abarth model) is one of my favourite small car designs.
