I know this is an old chestnut, but why not scrap road tax and put the duty on the fuel used?,now i know this would benifit others, and some rightly so, for example it would help haulage firms immensely, and why should OAP's pay a road tax anyway?,they're mostly light users

The one who are currently getting of with not paying they're share are company vehicles which cover more than 40K miles+ a year.

I think this will cause some debate i'm sure, but as we all know we contribute a significant amount of revenue for Mr.Brown/Mr.Darling and the government isn't about to give that up easily

I think it would be easy enough for the government to work out what we all could afford to pay on a fuel tax duty, and even if they decided to go with a pay as you go system it would be more acceptable than what it costs us now, over to you, anyone?
