Autocar - First for car news and reviews

Aston Martin is building a development version of its One-77 hypercar to take to Germany’s Nurburgring, Autocar has learnt.

The car is still being developed and at present is just a running prototype to be exhibited at shows.

Did anyone really expect any different?  Is there a performance car that isn't / hasn't been tested at the ring in recent years?

In isolation, yes, not impressive.   But given that it's also generating downforce that's very important.   It means the air is being used to stick the car to the tarmac, not simply a slippy shape to go fast.

Result is a car which will go round corners fast.

Exactly. An F1 car has a drag coefficient of somewhere between 0.7 and 1.0, depending of set-up, because of the downforce produced.

Shame it doesn't look too hot ;-)

How many owners will take their One77 round the 'ring I wonder?
