  • Hyundai iX35 targets Ford Kuga

Hyundai's new iX35 soft-roader will target the Ford Kuga with keen pricing that could undercut the Ford by up to £3000, Autocar has learned.

Hyundai will replace its Tucson model with an all-new car that will be bigger, wear sharper-looking bodywork and have a higher-quality cabin as part of a move upmarket.

After the i30 looking exactly like a BMW 1 series from the back, and the i20 being a complete rip off of the Corsa, I'm guessing that this will similarly look like a very badly executed copy of a Kuga?  Hyundai get a lot of plaudits at the moment for producing much better cars, but in design terms they seem to have gone from producing uniquely bland cars to producing ones that just imitate another car in the class.  Hardly much of an improvement.  At least the quality and ride have improved though.

This doesnt look like a Ford Edge (Kuga) at al.  What are you smoking, I want it?

Umm... Autocar, shouldnt you be comparing KIAs products to Fords now since Hyundai has moved upmarket, well at least in the US?

Dont Underestimate the Hyundai. Superior Korean Build Quality is of value to the: overpriced, overated, and over the hill Japanese. All Japan has left in the top 3 US Rankings in Quality is Lexus, and Hyundai is right on their tail.

I saw a Ford Kuga the other day , so someone has actually bought one. Can't think why Hyundai would want to "target" it.
