  • Alfa Romeo Milano images leaked

    Jul 06, 2009 1:46 PM

These are the first images of the production ready Alfa Romeo Milano, which have leaked out of the factory after they were posted on Facebook.

The car takes clear styling cues from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizone, and includes details such as hidden rear door handles, as on the current 147.

Reports suggest the Milano is slightly wider and lower than the current 147, which it will repl...Read the full article

Hmmm, still not sold on the frontal styling.  Still looks a little unhappy like its smaller Mito brother.

That said, these aren't great shots, so it may be better in the flesh.

    It's all about the twisties....

Agree with all that Teg. Also, the rear 3/4 looks like the new Astra's in that photo.

If you haven't driven a particular car don't say you have just to prove a point. It doesn't fool anybody and is bloody annoying.

What has happened to Alfa's styling team? Saw a 7 year old 166 (I think) the other day and it still looked fresh. This is uncohesive, fat and slightly dull.

It's a shame that Alfa is abandoning the good looks of the 147, 159 etc in favour of this ugly new design on the Mito and Milano.

The car pictured looks like it has a bad head cold...

The rear three quarter view is generic - new Megane, new Astra etc.

If Alfa's can't stand out for their good looks, then the engineering must be greatly improved if they are to be competitive.

more emperor's new clothes from the effortlessly stylish Italians(snigger).

how much did Marchionne pay the 'designer' to put a Dairylea Triangle on the front of a Toyota iQ?

Initial impression, its a less than successful facelift of the handsome Fiat Bravo. A Fiat better looking than Alfa equiv - is this a first?

And this from the company that makes the beautiful, understated and handsome 159

The front panel (just below the grill) has got the Dracula teeth look going on there.

Let's at least hope it drives well. In recent years Alfas have struggled to match the class bests in terms of driving dynamics.

The pictures are poor quality from close quaters, of course it looks rotund.  The car itself is in white on small wheels under unnatural light.  Not the best for any car as the surface detailing is lost.

Remember the promo shots of the Alfa GT....looked terrible and disguised what is now recognised as a beautiful and understated design.  Alfas always need to be seen to be judged.  This car is certainly not ugly, just 'poorly' specced to make the most.  In a colour with wheels more standard to the UK market (we like em BIG) and it will look far more convincing.

Still, it seems as if Alfa Design is a talking point - Mito and now Milano too, we cant get enough of it.  I, for one, am a fan as boring, conservative design is a waste of space. If I see one more Golf in a car mag.............

Hmmm, I agree with Teg, Punto becomes MiTo; Bravo becomes MeToo (or Milano.) Yet more derivitive, photocopier styling!

Hmmm. It looks like a large MiTo and saw one of them in red the other day and didn't like it. This is a shame because I love Alfas. I think the 159 is the best looking family car (esp in TI format) on sale today. It even seems to be holding it's value fairly well, which is annoying because I'm waiting for the 2.4 JTD TI to fall far enough so I can afford one!!

I guess white, with small wheels and poor photos won't help but I think Alfa should bring back Giugiaro!
