    Jul 01, 2009 8:48 AM

Citroen's second model in the new DS range, the DS4, will be an MPV inspired by the C-Sportlounge concept from 2005, Autocar can reveal.

"Citroën has compared that car’s ethos to that of the BMW X6."

Why?  Has the X6 made that much of an impact in the motoring world that it should be aped so regularly?

I can see why Honda did for the US market, but is it really relevant in Europe with Citroen?

Citroen did the X6 first with the GS in '70, though the GS was designed to go across fields (you could set its suspension to high), it also had a great sound with its air cooled boxer engine, there was even briefly a rotary engine but they were thirsty. Not sold on this DS idea though, by making the C3 a reasonable looking car with its facelift they seem to have stolen the DS3's thunder, also the C3 looks a more confident design relying less on styling gimmicks than the DS3.
