The first ever production model of the Bugatti Veyron has been put up for sale.

The Veyron is being sold at a dealership in Beverly Hills for $2.4million (£1.5million) and it reportedly has just 400 miles on its odometer.

However, the owner is clearly looking to make money, as a new Veyron, of which only 300 will be produced, costs around £850,000.

I was under the impression that VW/Bugatti made their customers sign a contract that they couldn't sell their cars for a profit as VW made a loss putting them on the market? I'm sure I remember reading something along those lines in a car magazine, it might have even been Autocar?

Probably find the owners had a deal to sell the car to the dealer for list (hence not breaking any contract with VW). The dealer sells it on and has a carve up with the profit with the original owner.........or am I just cynical??

So because its the 001 model its worth an extra £650,000 over a brand new model?

Now this car really will appeal to someone with more money than sense.

I wonder if the 2nd hand car still has any warranty left.

 If I had that kind of money, I would take the new one, but some people have enough money to take both for the sake of it.

They'll make it so much more expensive simply because it's the first.

depends on the waiting list for a new one. If it's 2 years and you really want that car, some will pay the extra for used. This is the same as the First lot of the latest Mercedes SL's for example. people paid for a used because they didn't want to wait. Paying more for used it no new thing in the car business.

There are plenty of near-new or new Veyrons on the market. But if you wish for personalised customisations, then you have to wait.

The mileage of just 400miles is slightly depressing.  Like the 250GTO, GT California and the 300SL Gul-wing this is a car destined for the car cover in the storage barn of a collector somewhere. 

or - there's the chance that a few more miles have been added in the intervening several years since the thread/story ran...

 Will not sit there long, some no name celeb will buy it, cynical or what!, but it's probably what will happen to it.....or...Jay Leno will add it too his vast collection.

Just a week after the last built...seems a strange coincidence...

Anyway...waiting lists are for ones that want these kind of cars in their own trim. A lot of places always have cars like these ready for immediate delivery.

Auto Salon Singen, a place I visited and it is closer to a automobile museum than a car seller has now 6 Veyron on sale and 157 Ferrari...
