  • BMW X1 teaser image

    Jun 18, 2009 11:32 AM

BMW has released a teaser picture for its new BMW X1.

The picture comes a day after autocar.co.uk revealed spy photos of an almost BMW X1 undergoing development testing.

    See the spy pictures here

The BMW X1 is the fourth model in BMW’s off-roader line-up, slotting in beneath the X6, X5 and X3. It is aimed at high-spec versions ofthe Ford Kuga and VW Tiguan.

Releasing a blurred teaser shot after nearly undisguised spy shots were shown earlier in the week seems a bit pointless. Though at least the most important part of the photo was in focus!

I saw the spy shot yesterday and have to say that the car shown in the official teaser picture is much more attractive.

Lets hope the blurry/fuzzy appearance comes through on the production models.

If you noticed the BMW first I've got some bad news for you.

    The girl's a cracker, the car's a minger.

Does anyone know where Prince Charles got all those medals he wears?

Quite true - made me laugh. If only BMW could keep it out-of-focus when it hits the road, perhaps they could make that an option at some exorbitant cost; wonder what you'd call that option ? 'Fuzzy logic" maybe......

That would be a great extra to have on all production BMW's at the moment - it automatically blurrs your vision so that your senses are not offended by the hideous looks.

If it could blur Mr Plods vision perhaps you could make the most out of the fantastic BMW engines?

Well in silver looks fab needs the usual adjustment period BMW designs need think 1 Series that has become accepted and ageless design. Subject to a test drive we will be placing an order for March delivery nice Titanium Silver X1 20d with Xenons sure it will drive well and guarantee the looks will grow on a few another BMW marmite car you either love it or hate it.

Um, the 1-series? An accepted and ageless design? More like unacceptably ugly and tasteless design... If only BMW could surface their cars properly, they would have some stunners. The proportions are generally pretty good - short overhangs, wide tracks, long bonnets and short decks. They just screw it up with the surface design. The cars looked like they were styled by two children - one with a ruler and one with a french curve - who take it turns to draw a line. Ugly ugly ugly. Cars do not have to look this bad to be distinctive - just look at an Alfa Romeo or an Audi.
