  • Mini Roadster at Frankfurt show

    Mini will unveil a new Roadster model in the form of a near-production concept car at this year’s Frankfurt show in September.

    The new car will be a two-seater and will offer a more sporty-looking alternative to the Mini Cabriolet.

    It will be based on the current-generation Mini, but will have a lower windscreen and a lower roofline.

    Thanks to a lower centre of gravity the car should have even better handling than the standard Mini.

     ARRRRGGGHHHH, all run and hide, they are distroying the brand, the world is about to end!!!!.................... thought i might as well say it as someone is bound to! :P

    What is the point of the X6? Who cares, i dont want one but i do like to have the choice

    Lol, just before reading the your last sentence, I was just about to say you're being a bit harsh slagging it off even before seeing what it looks like. :D

    A small nippy roadster seems like a great idea. Certainly more appealing than the Crossman. How a Roadster would be markedly different to the current soft top mini is one area that leaves me concerned. Could they end up stealing sales from the regular Mini rather than competitors?

    No doubt 'premium pricing' will cover that concern. Will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the new VW sportster price wise.

    How long before we see a Mini Moke?

    Seriously though, it sounds like Frankfurt is going to be a decent place to see some interesting metal after the let downs / closures of most of the other shows this year.

    Knowing Mini it wont be cheaper than the current car! The VW sportster should be RWD and an entirely different proposition.

    Can't get enough of that Volkswagen and Audi stuff...
