  • Citroen GT 'likely' to be built

    May 28, 2009 3:53 PM

Citroen will make a decision on whether or not to put its GT supercar into production "within the next four weeks," according to the firm’s product boss Vincent Besson.

The GT was first shown as a concept car at last year’s Paris motor show, built to tie in with the car’s appearance the Gran Turismo 5 PlayStation game.

Designed by Takumi Yamamoto, it was not initially meant for production, but now Citroen is considering building it.

If the firm decides to go ahead with the G...Read the full article

i hope they can make the numbers add up. Its as interesting as the other £1,000,000 cars. It would certainly be a nice addition to a multi millionaire's collection

405 Le Mans, Monaro CV8, S2000, MKX 3.8. No more space.

One million for an American V8 engined supercar, built by Citroen. What a mind bogglingly silly idea. Sillier indeed than the Maserati engined SM, Citroens last foray into supercardom. And at one tenth of the price by todays standards that was a total flop too. Whose ego is being massaged here? Or is this really going to sell more tin shopping trolleys. For heavens sake Citroen, spend the money on design engineers and make your cars more robust and reliable.

I think the car has already done enough to showcase Citroens design ability, as putting it into production with someone elses engine has a good chance of doing more harm than good unless it is mindblowing to drive. Save the money and build the Hypnos instead.

I really like the picnic table at the rear, where are the folding chairs stored?

If they can make money on it, and people want to buy it, why the heck not.

From the other side, this will probably be an after hours project for the engineers.  If I was engineer at Citroen I'd be really quite excited about getting my teeth in to something like this!

The halo effect is more than just selling cars.  The feel good it would give the whole Citroen staff would do the company good.

    It's all about the twisties....

Does anyone know what Citroen were up to on Tuesday driving the Concept GT up the Champs Elysess?  It looked and sounded amazing!
