When were the patents filed? - this may give a clue as to whether this engine may be available for the F450 in September.

Hope it will have a naturally-aspirated engine!

It will have a 4,5 or 4,6 liter V8, naturally aspirated, double-clutch gearbox (someone still thinks it will use a F1 single-cluch one), direct injection, 520 bhp.

In the italian mag Auto website (www.auto.it) there are a couple of decent renderings.

Sounds quite interesting. It should be the last aspirated V8 Ferrari for regular production.

I hope they keep the NAs for the sports models, and let the turbo engines stay in the 612 / 599 type models.

mind you, i dont think anyone would say no to a modern day 288gto.

Looks good, will there be issues with engine longevity though? Suppose it doesn't matter if you can afford the asking price!

Ferrari have long history of producing reliable turbo cars (F40 etc), so there shouldn't be any problems.  Besides turbo technology has moved so much in recent years, reliability isn't an issue any more.

Interesting thought though, when do you think F1 is going to go back to turbo cars with small capacity efficient engines? Surely this is a much more relevant way of moving on efficient road car technology than KERS.

    It's all about the twisties....

The article says nothing about what is new in the patent and the picture is so small I can't see myself.

     Heroic bit of journalism there.
