A millionaire car enthusiast is attempting to revive the 2010 British Motor Show as a smaller scale event.

I have to applaud this guy, at least someone is getting their finger out to do something.  Lets just hope he thinks outside of the conventional motor show box and creates an event which people want to visit.

Why not get some of the car clubs involved?  Individually these events draw thousands of people, so imagine what they can do combined.

What I don't want to see (as it will possibly do more harm than good) is a "Motorfair" type set up of a couple of years ago at a smaller venue such as Earls Court.

Excellent news - agreed. The day the British Motor Show was axed was sad indeed.

Thats said, am less keen on the car club idea. I think it'd be important to retain a premium feel to the event as much as possible. Wealthy benefactor plan seems ideal to me.

I agree - good to see someone trying to do something to bring the show back! Something like 1999's Earls Court Motorshow would be good - that actually turned out to be huge, with an upstairs 'classics' bit. Look forward to hearing more on this - and if it succeeds, it'll be happy times!
