  • German car emissions 'worst in Europe'

    Nov 16, 2007 8:41 PM

The Transport and Environment (T&E) group has claimed that of all the major European car manufacturers, Germany's brands are the worst for emissions improvements.
BMW is the only exception to this, which improved the average CO2 output of its cars by 2.5 per cent, or 4g/km.
The figures take into account the new models produced by major European manufacturers over 2005 and 2006, and show that the average German car produced 173g/km of CO2 in 2006 – up 1g/km on the previous year.
    T&E put...Read the full article

Why do we always have to say how green Toyota are and how gas guzzling and irresponsible German manufacturers are? As for as I'm concerned, this article was, first and foremost, about European manufacturers only:

    Autocar:
of all the major European car manufacturers
, so get Toyota the out of there, and secondly, which country has the fastest cars? Germany! Does Fiat have any sports cars? No! Not even Toyota in that respect. Besides, you'd think that the Germans are just sitting there doing nothing...plus, this article didn't mention that Daimler will introduce a whole new set of technologies in the following 4 years which will say "good bye and good riddance" to Toyota, Lexus and the rest thanks to the brilliant DiesOtto engine, BlueTec and diesel-electric production cars. And why did the weight on cars increase? Due to more intense European regulations and more technological features which make our lives significantly better.

I also didn't see any sign of Britain...no offence, but with Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Vauxhall as the main British manufacturers, I think that their average carbon dioxide rating is even greater than Germany's.

I drive a CLS and couldn't care less about being politically correct.

Well if that was difficult to read for you, then I'm not really sure you understand the world of cars...

Research suggests that CLS drivers don't signal, that they push in at the top of a contraflow, that they sit on peoples bumpers on the motorway and that they speed.

Research suggests they couldn't care less about punctuation and/or grammer.

First of all, not even you seem to "care less about punctuation and/or grammar". Secondly, what kind of research is this: where did you get it???

    Empirical research old boy.

And don't take everything so seriously - you'll only make things harder for yourself.

Which means that it is totally inaccurate, plus you're generalizing too much. Also, please do not tell me what I should or what I shouldn't do, although I appreciate your concern: don't take it personally, but I get infuriated by stuipd, nonsense and untruthful comments. Thank you.
