    What is it?

A new era for one of Britain’s best-loved sports car manufacturers. This is the Westfield 1600 Sport Turbo – a new model that will take the marque to mainland Europe for the first time as well as reviving the model line-up in the UK.

Built to European small car type-approval standards, the Westfield 1600 Sport Turbo conforms to much the same regulations (with the exception of pedestrian, frontal and side impact safety rules) as any mainstream small car that is so...Read the full article

I hadn't heard about westfield for quite a while - thought they might have been killed off by these newer less conventional track cars like the Atom.

Good to see they are still around, but it does also strike me that there are so many possibilities and endless shapes that could be created with some more imaginative fibreglass bodies over the traditional chassis.

Westfield are alive and very much kicking.  The original owners (Chris Smith and family) sold the company off back in December 2006 to Potenza Sports Car Limited who also own GTM Cars.

Since then the new owners have invested heavily in updating the designs and vehicles to become a direct competitor to the likes of Caterham.

There we go, that's my stato bit for the day done!

A simply fantastic car! Affordable at £25,000, fast and thrilling, good handling level, great fuel economy for what this car is and, the fantastic interior! Westfield have got it spot on! Obviously no match for the Caterham, but at least this car is a lot cheaper. There have been heated debates about the safety of this car and I had to go against Westfield for awhile, but now I'm on their side. They've done enough to make it safer by, changing the exterior design - the door attachments and adding extra airbags and the seatbelt's have been altered to have extra straps. I find that without the power-assisted steering the handling is improved because this car is extremely light. I'm sure that you would feel like your going twice as fast when you're so close to the road. As soon as Westfield make a large profit then they might have a chance on taking the Caterham on or even, just maybe, the Atom!
