Morgan has taken the covers off a brand new open version of its breathtaking, limited-run flagship; this is the Aeromax SuperSports concept.

The car was unveiled to the public for the first time today, at Italy’s Villa D’Este Concourse d’Eleganza. Morgan insiders say it’s a 95 per cent match for a convertible version of the Morgan Aeromax that’s scheduled for production in 2010.

The rear half of the car is butt ugly and less successful than the coupe Aeromax. I guess Morgan's hardcore fans will buy it though.

must be a good crop of magic mushrooms down Malvern Gap way. £110K for a cross-eyed pram? Good job most people haven't heard of Wiesmann:

Same performance, even less weight and for just over half the price of the Morgan abomination.

Yes, but after announcing a limited run of 100 coupe models that caused enthusiasts to buy them, there would have been a lot of upset owners if they suddenly announced more coupe models, as it would screw up the residual values of those already made, hence a convertible to ring more cash out of the design.

I like this. It's like an early 20th century car in the 21st century with 21st century tech. :D

The two preceding posts are right and all the others are total tosh. A WIESSMAN?!?! Get lost, a German idea of what an English car should look like and only bought by people who wear white socks with black jeans (the legs of which are too short) together with a black leather blouson and David Hasselhoff blaring out of the stereo.

This is a beautiful car that will get snapped up and quite deservedly so.

    Peace in our forum!

So this is a convertible version of a coupe version of a roadster - right?

I'd agree with you, seems an awful lot of money for an otherwise nice car .................until you see that backend ! I saw a couple of Wiesmann cars at Waddesdon Manor last year at one of the various marque owners' rallies. They looked very good, nice lines, superb paintwork and all fitted together very nicely by the look of things. I'd never heard of them before then but I would think they would sell well over here, despite the current economic problems. As they are based on BMWs they should prove reliable (?) unlike some marques we've known.
