    Citroen has become the first car manufacturer to signal its intent to join the UK car scrappage scheme.

    Xavier Duchemin, managing director of Citroën UK told the whatcar.com website: "It's good news for the industry and the car buyer and we’ll support it.

    Instead of offering discounts the govt is simply forcing manufacturers to give the discounts themselves. Manufacturers are simply going to put prices up £1000 to compensate for this.

    Can't get enough of that Volkswagen and Audi stuff...

    The Government may have been pretty clever here, getting people into showrooms who have read the £2K off a new car headlines, while only footing half the bill...

    I'll be interested to see who signs up.  This scheme still has the potential to fall flat on its a**e!!
