GMC has rolled out its new Terrain crossover at the New York Show.

The car features distinctive styling, with chunky wheel arches and a huge grille, and will be available in both front and four-wheel drive variants.

The base engine is a 180bhp 2.4-litre four-cylinder with direct fuel injection, which GMC is promising will be the most fuel efficient in its class.

This car puts the Yuk in Yukon.

actually - i've kind of always liked the GMC functional approach to their models designs - just a shame that, like every other american motor, they are built with an 18 month lifespan before self destruction ensues.

just a shame this one looks like it suffered the same fate as the VW Corrado - started off well at the front but the designers ran out of ideas/clay by the time they got half way towards the rear.

I'm especially excited about it being

the most fuel efficient in its class
    ...

    Wonder exactly what that means...?!

Looks a little under wheeled..... or is that over arched?

    It's all about the twisties....

It looks like it's trying to out-grille the Audi Q7!

Can't get enough of that Volkswagen and Audi stuff...

Needless to say the inevitable Denali version will rectify that :-) Extensive research - a quick look at the GMC website shows - 30MPG+ economy and a 500 mile range, both highway.

Actually, the big Denali V8 option gives better figures than the Landie Discovery V8 - which has a smaller engine by some margin - so I guess the best in class figure statement may not be as laughable as first thought.
