The Mercedes E250 Bluetec concept was unveiled at the New York motor show, as part of an offensive to win over the American market to clean diesel technology.

The E250 is a great motor, but I fear it's a little late to try and get the US into diesel - the cost of oil's too low, plus with the GM Volt technology coming along nicely diesel becomes irrelevant when the motor runs at constant revs and diesel is still a lot more polluting.

I think its great, there are diesel garages in the US but not as many as petrol; but with the vast mileage they do diesel is a good option and I can see it starting to expand its influence; it is a great way to increase the mpg (converted or otherwise!!) and with the reduction of the correct emission types that is really good!!
