  • All-new V12 for Rolls-Royce RR4

    The forthcoming 'small' Rolls-Royce RR4, previewed by the 200EX concept will be powered by an all-new turbocharged 6.6-litre V12 engine, the company has announced.

    The new engine develops “upwards of 500bhp” and drives through a new ZF eight-speed gearbox.

    The RR4’s output eclipses the 453bhp of the Phantom’s naturally aspirated, direct-injection 6.75-litre V12, and its torque figure is likely to be even more spectacular, because it is turbocharged.

    You seem to be a little confused as to whether it is 'all new' or a 'substantially reworked' version of an existing engine. It can't be both!

    If I found myself in this rather ugly car (unlikely, as it's very much a new money sort of carriage), I probably wouldn't be anywhere near the abode of poor people.

    Should the car unfortunately stray into such an area, and stones were thrown, I'd ask my driver to run over the perpetrators.

    I know it's not as "traditional" Rolls, but this to me is a far better car than the oversized Phantom........ Not that I'd ever own one any way!

    It's all about the twisties....
