Ford of Europe boss John Fleming has called on the European Union to show "joined-up thinking" in response to the car industry crisis.

"The EU needs to understand we need an industrial policy," Fleming told Autocar. "This is no time for nationalism and protectionism," he added, in a thinly veiled attack on French bailouts of Renault and PSA.

 Except the two factories that make a million engines a year here in Britain as well as all the R&D that goes on in Essex... its not all just assembly plants you know. Maybe you should concentrate on ensuring that we in Britain retain what we have!

Actually misread the title at first as it make more sense as:
