  • Iosis Max shows next Ford C-Max

    Mar 02, 2009 5:21 PM

This dramatic Ford concept, called Iosis Max, shows the look of the next C-Max mini-MPV, due in 2010 - and the next generation of Focus will follow suit in 2011.

The Iosis Max is a four-seat hatchback with a high seating position. It eschews van-like sheet metal in favour of much more “emotional” styling. Chief designer Martin Smith told Autocar, “The Iosis Max is a store of design cues and signature elements that will be evident on the next generation of Focus-family models.”

    Autocar:
    four-seat hatchback

Dunno four seats though..? Might not work as a family car because thats what it's coming across as I personally would want the privalige of have 5 seats.

So Ford are not content with stealing aspects of BMW's flame surfacing, theyre taking Audi style rear lights too.

looks nice but if it only has 4 seats I agree is a waste of time you need 5 and 7 seat options look at that stupid pig ugly BMW X6 that is a waste of space,it has  got the presence of Range Rover or the nimbleness of  a Porche and comfort of  a Jaguar

Lets hope Ford don't bottle out again, I saw the Mondeo Iosis concept at the Frankfurt motor show and was amazed, at the time I was driving an ST220 and have been a fan of Ford for a long time, all I wanted to know was where to pay a deposit. The Iosis was stunning, the Mondeo afterwards was disappointing, it may be a good car but the looks are dating rapidly in my opinion especially compared to the Insignia, new Mazda 6, Passat CC and new Accord. There is no way it will look as good as this. Or be as daring

Of course they will tone it down for production, all manufacturers do, simpler wheels etc but the basic shape will remain and it is a bit of a looker. Ford are on a roll at present, they perfected driving dynamics a while back, now they are getting the style to go with it.

You can bet your bottom dollar that a seven seater will follow shortly, this is the trendy "ive got a people carrier but dont really need one" version like the C4 Picasso is to the C4 Grand Picasso.

Ford is doing everything right at present, they deserve all the praise they get

According to What Car? this concept isn't the forerunner to any specific new model, just some general ideas to show what future Fords may look like.

If you haven't driven a particular car don't say you have just to prove a point. It doesn't fool anybody and is bloody annoying.

Nearly all in one. But not just content with stealing the Audi A1 rear lights, and BMW's side surface entertainment, they also steal the Opel Flextreme's front lights, in fact the car resembles Opel Flextreme in side profile. Add all this to the blatant rip off of all Volkswagen ineriors and it seems that the seeds sewn in the tie up in the late 90's with Volkswagen and Seat to build the Galaxy are still being reaped. But don't forget that Ford employ Martin Smith(ex Opel) and J Mays(ex Volkswagen), see a pattern developing here? Now that Chris Bangle has announced he's leaving BMW, what are the odds of him turning up at Ford next?

It won't be toned down that much for production - look how the Fiesta turned out - completely unchanged from the Verve concept! Looks good in my opinion.
I've got an Aygo and a Meerkovonian meerkat :)

Looks a bit small to be a C-Max replacement. I believe this could be a preview of the B-Max (Fusion replacement)
